HP Veer, HP Pre 3 and HP TouchPad


Oh boy, 2011 is really an interesting year. If neither one of the current smartphone with OS Blackberry, Android, iOS and WP7 suites your tastes, then here is a good news for you. HP, who acquired Palm on 28 April 2010, has officially announced three devices which operate using webOS namely HP Veer, HP Pre 3 and HP TouchPad to spice up the already intense smartphones and tablets wars. First, the HP Veer is a midrange smartphone with a slider QWERTY physical keyboard. It comes with a 2.6" TFT display, 8GB of storage, 5MP camera (no front camera), 800 MHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM 7230 chipset, HP webOS 2.2 and powered by a tiny 910 mAh Li-Ion battery.


Next, we have HP Pre 3 which is a powerful smartphone with a slider QWERTY physical keyboard also. This device will comes with 3.58" TFT display, 8GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, 5MP camera with LED flash, VGA front camera, 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8655 chipset, Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, HP webOS 2.2 and a powered by a 1230 mAh Li-Ion battery.


Finally, this is where the real fun begins. HP TouchPad. This tablet comes with a 9.7" XGA display (1024 x 768 screen resolution), a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon APQ8060 CPU, inbuilt gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, 1.3MP front camera, 16GB/32GB of storage, HP webOS 3.0 and powered by a 6300 mAh Li-ion battery. This device will be available in the coming summer with pricing to be determined at a later date. Oh well......
