Samsung Galaxy S II first with MHL port for USB, MHL and HDMI out!!


Guys and gals, if you think that Samsung Galaxy S II comes without HMDI port turns you off, then you are dead wrong! Samsung Galaxy S II is actually the first smartphone that equipped with a MHL port. In case you may have asked what is MHL, here it is. MHL stands for Mobile High-Definition video Link, is another mobile interconnect standard just like DisplayPort, mini-HDMI, or Light Peak.

The MHL port is capable to recognizes USB or MHL impedance and it will switch the phone into USB mode or MHL modes accordingly. What about HDMI? Well, to connect SGS II to a HDMI-equipped TV, you will need a special 5-wire micro-USB to HDMI cable to send media files to the TV. In short, MHL port is capable to support USB, HDMI and MHL. With the introduction of MHL into SGS II, Samsung manage to save up some precious space to give you a slim SGS II. Video after the break!
