Samsung has demonstrated a 4” quantum dots display on a flexible surface recently. “What is Quantum dot?” you may have asked. Well, quantum dots are nanocrystals that emit light when they get excited. The wavelength of light emitted is dictated by the size of the crystal. By laying different sized crystal on precise grids, it creates RGB pixels that can be applied directly to glass or a flexible surface which is a must to make a display. The quantum display will be far more efficient than an LCD while brighter and longer-lasting than OLED theoretically.
