Rumors: Intel to showcase “Light Peak” on Thursday, replaces SCSI, SATA, USB, PCI Express and HMDI!

Intel has invited journalists to attend an event on Thursday where it will demo “a new technology that is about to appear on the market” in San Francisco. There is no hard news on what Intel will showcase but rumors are saying that Intel will reveal its proprietary optical cable interface “Light Peak” in 10Gbps copper form, which is being developed in attempt to reduce the proliferation of ports on computers such as SCSI, SATA, USB, PCI Express and even HDMI.
